If you are passionate about working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities you are encouraged to apply.The Role Ability Options work in partnership with Western Sydney Local Health District Mental Health Services in the Individual placement and Support Model of Supported Employment (IPS).This model has been proven to be the most effective model of Disability Employment Services for people with mental illness.As an IPS Employment Specialist, your role will be to focus on the placement of participants with barriers related to their mental illness into sustainable, ongoing employment. You will do this through reverse marketing and the creation of strong employer links, thorough, person-centred case management and working closely with the mental health team to provide suitable clinical interventions targeted at gaining and sustaining employment.You will assist participants through the entire life cycle of Employment Services, starting from Employment Assistance through to Post-Placement Support.Ideally you will:Have experience in Disability Employment Services Have proven results working in an outcomes based roleHave strong marketing, and cold-calling experience to build employer links and source vacancies for your participantsUnderstand the challenges faced by people with mental health face when seeking employment and be able tailor jobseeking to the individual's particular challenges and employment goalBe optimistic, have a positive outlook and be prepared to give people a goBe able to work independently within a different workplace cultureBe clear in your responsibility to deliver the employment component of the integrated service with the mental healthHave a NSW drivers licence (P2 or above) and own vehicle that is comprehensively insuredWhy Work for Us?Our innovative service delivery model is driven by our commitment to ensure all people have the right support to find a job they love that makes a meaningful contribution to their community.Ability Options is committed to a workplace culture that recognizes diversity, equity and human rights.
